Backed this on Kickstarter last year and I’ve been playing it quite a bit of late. Good stuff, in my humble opinion.

Evidently I got bored last night. It’s time to delve once again into the world of Guix. This was my Debian 12 system, it may be that again, who knows. This is following the System Crafters install setup for Nongnu Guix, since I need the nonfree drivers here.

My Valentine’s Day gift for my wife. I figured these would last a little longer than the real thing. I’ve actually got another six that haven’t been put together, but ran out of room.

Yeah, I didn’t need these. I’ve got older versions of them somewhere. But, come on! When I initially saw this new edition of Dune in a bookstore a couple of years ago, I knew that I had to get it eventually. The six canon books are one of the few series that I’ve read multiple times.

This was my view for a little while yesterday while the youngest kiddo enjoyed a birthday party for a friend.

A view from the upper level of a local gymnastics center, overlooking children at play during a birthday party. There is a long trampoline to the left, ending in a foam block pit. There are ramps and bars in the central area. At the far end is another trampoline and bar, to the right of the foam pit. The main feature on the right side is a bounce house. Situated immediately in front of the viewer are the metal railings to keep one from falling.

I’ve had this book for a number of years, actually purchased it both because I wanted it and because we have kids who love math, but never actually dove into it. Started going through it last night, love it!

Photo of "Math with Bad Drawings: Illuminating the ideas that shape our reality" by Ben Orlin. The cover is filled with whimsical hand drawn (the author of the book would describe it as badly drawn I'm sure) artwork of various items (tic tac toe, graphs, equations, etc). A stick figure holding a piece of chalk is prominently featured.

These were gifts that everybody in our department received over the previous holiday. The blanket was a very nice surprise!

Something that I definitely don’t do very much - take or post a selfie.

A black and white selfie image of myself. I'm sitting in my vehicle, not looking at the camera but instead looking forward, out of the front window. My seatbelt is fastened.

I, for one, am super happy to know that my new garlic press is FOOD SAFE! 🤣

Picture of me holding the box that my Garlic Easy garlic press came in. Of note is the heavy duty construction, ergonomic handle, hassle free rinse cleaning, a five year warranty, dishwasher safe...and it's food safe.

I picked up a set of these, figured that they might make an interesting Valentine’s Day gift for somebody. Maybe. I dunno.

I guess I’ve been on a graphic novel luck lately. Picked this up the other day and have started reading through it. I love Gaiman’s work and thus far I’ve not been disappointed.

I picked this up when it was available on sale at Amazon the other day. I’ve wanted a copy of this since playing the original, way, way back when it first came out. I look forward to introducing my kids to this one!

Our youngest attended a birthday party here today, these shots don’t even begin to touch on the multi level climbing play area. It’s super cool!

I know I’m not the first/only/last person to complain about this, but it’s just moderately infuriating that what we already pay for prime just isn’t enough. At least it hasn’t bled over into the extra video channels yet.

My kids have been interested in playing Dungeons and Dragons for awhile now, so along with getting them the required manuals I figure now is also a perfect time to introduce them to a particular Drow. 😎

It’s either a little early for caturday, or really late. Ha

Frog and Toad stories are some of my favorites, both growing up and currently. I’ve read this particular book to all my kids, multiple times.

Taken at the Kansas City Zoo during their Zoo glow - or whatever it was called - celebration. I was unable to see what these all looked like while lit up, but I understand they were pretty neat.

Photo of two white wolf holiday statues, they are situated in front of a small cabin. During the evening, these are illuminated from within.

From the “older photos I took that I really like” category, we have this image taken at the Kansas City Zoo last late Summer. They have tons and tons of bees around the area, which is great and I love to see them working away and doing what they do!

I had seen this book at the store last week, but didn’t pick it up. Began to have some regrets a couple of days later. Found myself at the store again yesterday and it was still there. Must have been meant to be. 😀
